All Girls Spring 2008
The BCS All Girls tournament on March 8th brought together 38 of our best
female students, including many members of the BCS Queens Chess Team.
After the four rounds were over, our upper division had two girls with 4.0
points. Kylin Poropat then defeated Natalie Baldacci in a quick blitz game
to get the first place trophy. Jennifer Li took third place, winning the
tiebreak over Miranda Christ.
The upper division grade winner trophies went to Rosie Valentine, Leah
Kelly, Melissa Chin, Amy Meador, and Miranda Christ.
In the 18-person K-3 section, we had two perfect scores going into the final
round. Julia Wang then defeated Sophia Li to finish as the only undefeated
girl in the section and take first place. Sophia easily won the second
place trophy on tiebreaks. Diana Ren took third with 3.0, losing only to
Sophia.
The lower division grade winner trophies went to Vicky Parker, Sophie Penn,
Audrey Heckel, and Hayley Baum.
