Each year, the Berkeley Chess School offers two All Girls Tournaments as a way to further encourage and support girls in their interest and enthusiasm for chess.

The Berkeley Chess School thanks Soroptimist International of Oakland for its generous support of the All Girls Tournament.
Our chess tournaments are never elimination tournaments, so every girl will play a minimum of three games. The All Girls Tournament uses the Swiss format which means you play someone with the same score as you every round. The system is "self-correcting". For the girls winning every game, each round will be more challenging than the round before. If you start out losing, each round should become easier and easier.
Every student participating will receive a medal.
